| I'm with the last person who posted about Black Rock. This place is dynamite! And yes, most get very discouraged by the water in front of the parking lot, and yes, it does fool most.
But the pickrel in this area are of a number and size that I have never seen anywhere else in this area. I find they tend to hit on smaller spinnerbaits, with a teaser grub on it (I suggest a mister twister). Fishing Rapalas in there will catch tons of fish, but due to the weedbeds and other structure to snag on, I stay away from diving jerkbaits.
Another safe bet is a soft plastic worm or lizard. I actually haven't fished a senko in there yet, but I'd imagine that it would prove to be very deadly. If fishing plastic baits, fish them much faster than you would for, say, bass, as pickrel like a faster presentation. Good luck, and tight lines. |
